would like your readers to answer me. Is it possible for an organisation (political, civic or otherwise) in Matabeleland to be described as tribalistic? Granted that Matabeleland is a nation in a nation being the most diverse region in the country. The languages of Matabeleland are not dialects of the same language like in the rest of the country. In Matabeleland we have no less than 10 tribes. 1. Tonga (the largest group in Matabeleland North) of Lupane to Binga, 2. Kalanga (the largest group in Matabeleland South) from Plumtree, Tsholotsho, Kezi etc. 3. Venda in Beitbridge, 4. Nambiya in Dete to Victoria Falls 4. the Lubale in Jambezi, 5.The Dombe in Kamativi, 6. the Tswana in Gwanda, 7. the Sotho in Gwanda 8. The Ndebele ( a small minority) in Nkayi and parts of Lupane, Filabusi 9. Birwa (bushman) in Tsholotsho 10. the Shangaan 11. Xhosa in Mbembesi and12. Shona scattered around Matabeleland. How come the Ndebele being such a minority are always blamed for many things. Welshman Ncube, Gibson Sibanda, Moses Mzila, Joshua Nkomo etc are not Ndebele but Kalanga. It shows how ignorant Zimbabweans are, about their country. For them everything is Ndebele-Shona, for convenience. What about the rest of the tribes. Are they not fit to be Zimbabweans? The Tonga and Kalanga populations far much outnumber
The top leadership of Zapu in 1980. 1. Joshua Nkomo, 2, Josia Chinamano 3. Msika 4. Madzimbamuto, 5. Willie Musarurwa 6. Ariston Chambati 7. Munodawafa 8. John Nkomo, 8. Dumiso Dabengwa, 9. Thenjiwe Lesabe 10. Cephas Msipa, 11. Ruth Chinamano etc. In Zanu Enos Nkala was the only lone figure. Which party was regionalistic the? Remember Mugabe refused to address a rally at Barbourfields Stadium on 17 February 1980, because he said he will not raise a crowd in Nkomo?s Country (read Matabeleland). He encouraged violence against Nkomo in Manicaland saying that Manicaland was part of his country. Who is a tribalist? Dabengwa or Mugabe/ charamba
