Mabhikwa Secondary School - Mat. North

  The school was established in 1980 by the local authority in Lupane which is Kusile Rural District Council. The school has classroom blocks totalling 10 classrooms and an administration block, a library, a woodwork workshop and 14 staff houses. The school has solar panels installed in some of the classrooms and the administration block for lighting purposes, while electricity has since been connected to all buidings.

 "A" Level Proposal

 The school has recently (1996) been granted authority to develop Sixth Form facilities and:
 

-The community contributed funds to purchase building materials for the school laboratory which they have managed to costruct the structure up to window level.

-The government has granted a sum of two million dollars towards the creation of 6th form facilitieswhich was meant to have opened in January 1998.

-The Council and the SDA have managed to ferry gravel, river sand and any other relevant materials for constructing 6th from classes, and they are also busy fund raising to improve the status of their funds.

-The Council and the SDA and the Lupane District Development Association are also busy doing some project write ups seeking funds for the following:
-Hostels

-School Dining Hall

-Geography rooms

-Laboratory equipment

-Dining Hall equipments

 

  Installations already completed:
 
- Solar panels installed in some of the classrooms and administration block
- Electricity installed in the infrastructure of the school.
