School background Majiji is a day school which was established in 1984. It has an enrolment of 340 pupils. We (the school) have 3 Form 1 classes, 2 Form 2 classes, 3 Form 3 classes and 1 Form 4 class. We have 12 teachers, one clerk and one groundsman. We
have 10 teachers' cottages which are in use plus one incomplete cottage
which is at plastering level. There are 8 classrooms, 1 agriculture shed,
1 administration block plus 1 laboratory. The laboratory is complete but
it does not have furniture. The second laboratory for juniors is at gabel
level.
Plans to improve teaching of science The school is offering Biology and Core Science at O level. It is the school's hope that we introduce either Chemistry or Physics to Form Fours. We (the school) have acquired an engine to pump water. Once we install it, we will have taped water in the laboratory and this will obviously improve the teaching of science. The problem we have now is of a water pump. We are also intending to electrify the lab. Electricity lines are just some 3 km from the school. Once funds are sourced for the project, we will embark on it. The electrification of the laboratory will make teaching of especially Physics and chemistry more exciting and easier. Any
financial assistance towards the laboratory fiittings and furniture, equipment,
water pump and the electrification project will greatly be appreciated.
The parents of this school have a positive attitude towards development.
They will compliment any assistance.
