School Background/History The school was established in 1984 and it is a Rural Day Secondary school which is run by the Bulilimamangwe Rural District council. The school is located some 50km from Plumtree in Malalume village. The school is still in phse three of construction, i.e., the first wing of the laboratory has been done but it is not eqipped or furnished. The practical subjects sheds is incomplete. There are 8 classrooms that are used for teaching subjects that include Science, Fashion and Fabrics, Building Studiesband Art. The source of water for the school is a shallow well which is unreliable. The school enrolment in 1997 was 355. The Parents Association levy was increased to $25 -00 per child per year to $100 00 per child per year at te beginning of 1997. With effect from 1998 the levy was increased to $100 -00 per child per term. It is hoped that this levy will continue to see the construction of the laboratories through. However, furniture and fittings estimated at $400 000 - 00 will remain a nightmare for the school. The only consolation is that parents seem determined to keep the levy at $100 - 00 per child per term until proper science is taught at the school.
