Appeal after two killed in crash

Police want to find witnesses to a car accident on Christmas Day in which two people died.
A red Maxda Xedos hit a lamppost on the exit slip-road for Pilsworth on the M66 in Greater Manchester, just after 7am.

Brian Nyoni, 25, from Birmingham, who was in the front seat and the driver, Mbuso Mpofu, 27, from Heywood, both died.

Two other passengers, a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the motorway.

THE family of two Zimbabwean brothers who died on Christmas Day in a car crash in Manchester, England, last night launched a heart-rending appeal for financial and material donations to send the bodies to Zimbabwe. The appeal came as it emerged that the girlfriend of one of the dead men is SEVEN months pregnant.

A family spokesman David Mpofu told New Zimbabwe.com last night: "We have been told that there was snow on that section of the road which caused the car to skid."

The family needs to raise at least £4000 to get the bodies of the dead men to Zimbabwe.

"We are appealing to anyone who can help. We would be grateful for any kind of support. No contribution is small," said Mpofu.
