FW: ZIMBABWEANS - Stand up and be counted
Stand up and be counted. Lets not just talk about it but do something about it together, in our own little ways!
Our day has finally come...this is a call to all Zimbabweans in England.
This is NOT a joke, this is a very serious opportunity to make our voices heard.
How long have we been silent, believing that tomorrow will be a better day in Zimbabwe, that our voices are too insignificant to make a difference to what is happening? How many of your friends and families still live in Zimbabwe while we sit here in a country where we DO have freedom of speech and we DO have human rights and yet we still
do nothing?
Well, the time has come for our voices to be raised to a level that cannot be ignored, a single voice that will be heard in all corners of this world and it WILL make a difference.
On the 30th April 2005 we will be outside the Zimbabwean Embassy in Trafalgar Square to make This happen. The support is overwhelming, people like us who have ignored what we believe we cannot change...WE CAN
AND WE WILL!!!! Black and white alike, we will be there.
Just so you know who guys have been in touch with: Zim Vigil is on board, SW Radio, Zimconservation, The British Zimbabwe Association, Zimbabwe situation, WeZimbabwe are all spreading the word to ensure thousands will be there.
WE are waiting to hear back from Zvakana, ZWNews, New Zimbabwe, The Zimbabwean, Sokwanele, Chirundu.com, TBH and others re distribution of info postings. Have e-mailed the BBC and Guardian as well as Sky,Channel 4 and ITV.
This is going to be big, bigger than we have ever been and we cannot fail to be there.
It is a Bank Holiday so work is not an excuse...you are needed this one day to make our voices heard, we need you all to come and join us. Bring your shirts, your flags, your banners and your
voices.
We need numbers and YOU ARE IMPORTANT!! Let us make a stand together on that day and at least be able to say we fought for what we believed in!
And all in all, there's going to be hundreds of Zimbo's there...come rain or shine, we will shout and scream, sing and dance while the media take our message across the world.
Lastly and probably most importantly....SPREAD THE WORD...NUMBERS
GIVE US POWER! As my good friend Jonothan used to say...we may be small...but count us!
