Linjani oMthwakazi abahle laphelikhona? Thina ngapha siyazikholisela. Ngithe ngilikhumbuze ekhaya, with something less serious.
Three weeks ago I went to windermere ngizikwejisela labanye. IYASA was performing and boy or boy, abatsha bayazigidela bakithi. If you have never watched IYASA perform, you do not know what you're missing. I trully appreciated how to celebrate ukubaliNdebele ngiyakutshela. They have this new dance abagida khona uBanolila, ingomakasolomon Skuza (wawunganani, wawungaphi?). I truly enjoyed that day. Ukutshelwa yikuncitshwa. It's only unfortunate ukuthi I ended up losing my phone. Neway i dont regret that evening.
I am a fan yama-cultural groups and I follow most of them around town ngamaweekends.
Please next time you're around make it a point to at least watch one cultural group kwelikaMthwakazi. We have shown ukuthi we'll never die, if they think ukuthi we're holding on to straws, bazamangala!
It's amazing how oMthwakazi dispite all they're subjected to by izanu, indlala, ukuncindezelwa, ukubuswa and all, we still manage to afford some time out sizikholisela like nothing is happening. OMthwakazi are trully a wonderful people bakithi, I'm proud to be one and I'd never change if I could.
i tell you now, there's no culture as sweet as eyethu, let's guard it!
I just thought ukuthi I should take your minds off work a bit and share with you ngempilo yethu.
--------------------- Hoza lazo, hoza lazo, Hoza lazo mfana!

Fassie fights lung infection 03/05/2004 15:01 - (SA)
Johannesburg - Musician Brenda Fassie, in a coma in a Johannesburg hospital, had contracted a lung infection overnight, her record company EMI said on Monday.
"After an examination this morning by her doctors, it was established that Brenda had picked up a lung infection overnight," said Leslie Sedibe, a lawyer for EMI Records.
Fassie was admitted to Sandton's Sunninghill Hospital last week following an asthma attack which lead to cardio-respiratory arrest.
The new infection was being treated and doctors did not consider it life threatening, Sedibe said.
Sedibe confirmed Fassie had also suffered damage to her brain, but said this was "not to the same as saying somebody is brain dead".
Doctors were able to successfully resuscitate Fassie when she was admitted following the asthma attack, but she then fell into a coma, Sedibe said on Sunday.
He said a neurosurgeon from the Sunninghill Hospital confirmed that Fassie's neurological condition remained the same.
"She remains in a coma and her condition is considered critical but stable."
Sedibe said the Fassie family wished to thank Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, her daughter Zinzi, Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, former boxing champion Baby Jakes Matlala, musician Mariam Makeba and Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni for their support.

Fassie still in a coma 04/05/2004 22:38 - (SA)(news24)
Johannesburg - Pop diva Brenda Fassie was in a stable condition and breathing on her own by Tuesday night, but remained in a coma, said her brother, Boyce Fiyo. "Brenda has not yet woken up, but she is in a stable condition and all her body parts are functioning. She is off the respirator," he said. Fassie was taken to hospital on Monday last week after an asthma attack which led to cardio-respiratory arrest. Doctors were able to resuscitate her, but she fell into a coma. On Tuesday afternoon, her recording company, EMI, said Fassie's condition remained "neurologically unchanged", and doctors at Sunninghill Hospital were still studying brain scans and could give no new information. However, she was responding well to the treatment for her lung infection. President Thabo Mbeki and African National Congress heavyweights Kgalema Motlanthe and Smuts Ngonyama visited Fassie on Monday, as did the ministers of foreign affairs and home affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula. On Tuesday, Arts and Culture Minister Pallo Jordan and his deputy Ntombazana Botha went into the intensive-care unit carrying baskets of roses. Musicians Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Arthur Mafokate also paid her a visit. Despite the parade of public figures, EMI said Brenda's family had found time for quiet prayer at her bedside.
