bosso supporters killed in road accidents
Bulawayo Bureau
TWO
Highlanders Football Club supporters died in two separate road accidents along the Victoria Falls-Bulawayo Road on Sunday.
One died while travelling to Hwange town for the
Highlanders-Hwange Football Club game in which the Bulawayo team won 2-0.
The other supporter was killed while coming from the match.
Although Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Augustine Zimbili could not be reached for comment, police officers in the resort town confirmed the accidents.
They said the first accident happened at around 1pm about 65km from Victoria Falls when a vehicle carrying Highlan-ders supporters veered off the road before overturning after the driver lost control, killing one person on the spot.
The second accident occurred after the match and the supporters were returning to Victoria Falls and again the vehicle veered off the road after the driver who was allegedly speeding lost control. A passenger died on the spot.
The victims’ names were not immediately available.
