Hans Theessink &InsingiziCanada Tour 2004
Musical variety has always been Hans Theessink's trademark. Whether he plays solo or with other musicians. Theessink is a sure guarantee for heartfelt American Blues & Roots Music on a high emotional and technical level. Hans Theessink's extensive roots repertoire ( somebody should give him an honorary doctorate as living musical archive!) is the tour guide for a musical journey that oozes sheer joy and takes the audience on a rousing trip through a mix of Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Folk, Roots Rock and even some Gospel. It's one big jamsession with an intensity that in no time sends the sparks flying over to the audience and keeps them electrified. When Zimbabwean singers Insingizi add their powerful voices and African spirit to the overall mix, the before mentioned roots are getting even more apparent and the show becomes a celebration of infectious " handmade" music.
All three members of a-cappella-trio Insingizi hail from Bulawayo in the province of Matabeleland in Zimbabwe. Insingizi wan many musical contests in Zimbabwe and got known outside their native country when they released their hit record "Bantu-Nonke-Sugar-Daddy" that soon became a big anti aids hymn. Insingizi performs "Imbube"-Music in the Ndebele language. On stage they offer soulful a-cappella singing, percussion and some wonderful choreography.
