I would like to prevail upon our great thinkers for some advice.

I have been doing some research into the activism of supporters of the struggle for a Free Tibet, an independent nation which was invaded by China and which continues to suffer oppression and various forms of ethnocultural violence aimed at destroying the unique nature and character of a nation and country.

I would be very interested to know whether thinkers and heavy hitters of the calibre of the forum can consider whether the immensely sophisticated campaigning strategies of the Tibetan lobby could not be harnessed to formulate and drive our own outreach to the international community, in an effort to derive tangible assistance from the latent international sympathy for the position of Mthwakazi.

The international sympathy for the Tibetan cause is predicated I believe in part on:

1. The palpable suffering of Tibetans and;

2. the dignity and goodwill which their spiritual leader has won across the globe and;

3. The determination of Tibetans to assert their right to independence and justice and peace through moral and non-violent means.

Asd a consequence of a disciplined, coherent and congruent program Tibetans can rely on support form international agencies and personalities and attract international funding for a wide variety of cultural, educational, medical and other projects for huan development.

Your comments and any other reflections born from your research would be appreciated.

Ngiyabonga.

Mtshede, while I don't claim to be a great thinker, I will however say a thing or two about the Tibetan struggle for independence.

I undertook basic research into their struggle and found that it is "middle way", ie it is a form of resistance which holds that reason and compassion are the best means of achieving autonomy.

Underpinning this "middle way", I read, is the belief that the Dalai Lama is a god reincarnated.
The Tibetans also have a government in exile, based in India.

Now for Mthwakazi. Some people on these forums have derided the secessionist agenda while others have embraced the gradualist(federalist)one. Yet more others, agree with both these ideals.

I do, however, see reason and compassion in the Mthwakazi quest, espoused by non-violence, pragmatism and multi-culturalism.

The question therefore is, "Can we, as Mthwakazians, rediscover a common cause like the Tibetans"?

To those who dismiss secession, I'll leave you with this Tibetan proverb;

"There is no point in weeping for the dead before you have seen the corpse"

Our struggle is not dead. Infact, it is not born yet.

What gives these doubting "Thomas"s the leverage to orate to us their theories is that eqinisweni akula nto esiyenzayo loba kakhulu kumbe kancane towards ukuziqoqa njenge sizwe.

That is our biggest failure.Kusukela angzi loba nini sixoxa ngento ezifanayo minyaka yonke kungela kuya phambili.This is why uthola abantu banjengo Jazi sebela-notes e-statistics to qoute to support his ideas ngoba asiyi phambili.

Mthwakazi omuhle banengi kakhulu abantu bakithi abasemazweni asiqoqaneni hatshi nge-politic kumbe ama-parties kuphela,but asibeni leskhathi sokwenza ama-social groups/clubs lapho esizakwenza/xoxa planner khona izifiso zethu.

Otherwise ngaphandle kwalokho sizaphikisana si-lectshwe lapha enkundleni ngama-specialists in arguing and debating.Is this what we need?Yikho na esikuphilelayo?

Benza njani abeTibet?At least bona uDalai lama is their torch bearer and they have the social structures to organize and influence events on the international scene.

Asikhulumeni lobaba umfundisi uNcube (Archbishop Ncube)asikhokheleni emkhosini wethu lowu. The fact that there are federalists and secessionists is neither here nor there. There are organisations like the ANC/SACP/COSATU in South Africa with contradistinctionary viewpoints on certain fundamental policy issues but they are united into an alliance and they are doing a hell of a good job for their people.
Let's request Archbishop Ncube to be our leader as Mthwakazians. This will serve to unite all these splinter groups which speak in various disparate and discordant voices. You have shameless and faceless federalists on the one side, versus the equally unrepentant and rabid secessionists on the other side. The sooner the two sides realise that these are just two sides of the same coin the better. However, based on the views expressed by various individuals in this forum, it is crystally clear that the majority of Mthwakazians are realistic in their jugdements. That they know and understand that FEDERATION is achievable and very much within reach without much ado and loss of lives for our people who are already decimated in numbers by relocation, death from years of war (1893-4; 1896-7;1960-1980; 1981-1987, the Mozambiquan war, the DRC war). It must be noted that in all these wars , our people's rewards upon victory has always been craps and crums.
Telling this tired nation to go to war again will be tantamount to condemning it to oblivion and possible extinction. Let us push for federation bafowethu, which we can achieve with very little if any loss of blood for the Ndebele child. In South Africa people in Zululand are led by Zulus. They have Zulu radio stations. The ports and hotels in Durban employ Zulus. The provincial government there is headed by Sbusiso Ndebele (not to be confused with Mthwakazi), the provincial cabinet is almost 100% Zulu. All the key posts are in the hands of the Zulus (finance, security, health , education, social services, labour, culture etc etc). All revenue from tourism is directly benefitting the Zulus in the form of jobs , shareholdings etc. The same applies to all other provinces in South Africa. Hence no one cares about tribalism whatsoever. The Zulu radio station (Ukhozi) plays 100% songs by the likes of iHatshi elimhlophe, Soul Brothers,oGuluva, Phuzekhemesi, Visi Ximba etc etc.
Remember this is not even a dfederal system in South Africa. It is a quasi-federal provincial system. With federation even more autonomy is in the hands of the respective federal state.

I have never been disappointed by a lack of thoughtful and considered opinions on this most excellent of websites and I am more than grateful for the considered views offered here and now.

Ngiyalibonga amawundlu wesilwane.

Please excuse me from too much comment on views offered. I am not wise enough to respond wisely to every response.

In continuing my own investigation of the trials and tribulations of Tibet, as well as the treasury of experience and wisdom this small and bitterly contested piece of Earth has to offer I have been struck repeatedly by the sheer intelligence with which its struggle has been expanded into cyberspace.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Tibet has found a virtual home of its own in virtual reality.

May I ask and propose that sites such as this Inkundla, fertile mother of all Mthwakazian sites, and Mthwakazionline, virile father of all Mthwakazian sites, please find ways to connect themselves by linkage to various Tibetan sites which deal with the perennial themes which are our daily fare, of marginalisation, oppression, and spiritual and civic resistance to marginalisation oppression and cultural and actual genocide?

In this way the vast international constituency which is concerned with and advocates the welfare of Tibet might be induced to consider our own condition as people who seek peace and justice, whether as children of federation or offspring of seccession?

Sibalukhulu I know you never sleep and always listen.
